Jesus tells his followers “YOU are the salt of the earth.” The way it is written in the original texts gives the idea of “YOU, and no one else, are the salt of the earth.”
He doesn’t say, “You can be.” “You might be or could be.” He very clearly says, “You are the salt of the earth. Right now.”
