God is a missionary God. The Hebrew verb “to send,” shelach, is employed more than two hundred times with God as the subject of the verb. In other words, it is God who commissions and it is God who sends.
Perhaps the most dramatic illustration of sending comes out of the Old Testament. Pastor Craig explains the attitude we need to have when the question is asked, "Whom shall I send"... May we all be willing to answer, "Here am I, send me!"
