We often avoid the word religion because people have created so many false religions to live life the way they want. True religion, defined in the Bible, is a relationship with God through His determined way, through Jesus Christ, lived out in obedience to Him in all aspects of our lives. James now defines for us what true religion, and a real religious person, should look like.
